Danielle has said her love of aviation began after Dolly took the family to Hawaii by air. The family apparently behaved so badly on the trip that Dolly never repeated the experiment. As Danielle jokingly put it: “Can you imagine taking 17 rednecks to Hawaii?” 😄 So while Dolly may not have fallen in love with flying, aviation still became part of her family's story. And the connection didn't stop there. In 2026, Allegiant announced a special Dollywood-themed flight, Flight #925, flying from Orlando Sanford to Knoxville. The number was chosen as a tribute to Dolly's famous “9 to 5.” Passengers were promised music, trivia, themed food, giveaways and other Dollywood experiences. The flight became so popular that Allegiant added a second themed flight, #2925. Then there's Dollywood's new NightFlight Expedition — an aviation-inspired adventure combining flight simulation with other attractions. So, ironically, a woman who apparently wasn't particularly fond of flying ended up leaving quite a footprint in aviation-themed travel. From inspiring a pilot in her own family to having aircraft flights named after her, Dolly's influence managed to reach the skies anyway.
